My story

Name: Marty
Breeds: Lab Mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male
Size: Medium/Large when fully grown (best guess)

Marty is your typical happy go lucky Labrador retriever pup who found himself (with the siblings- also adoptable) looking for a forever home. He is about 12 weeks right now (so about 14 when they get to MN) and is learning all the steps to being a good boy. He is a fun dog to have around and very smart so training should be pretty easy. He has been in a shelter environment so expect all the fun of a puppy including potty training, crate training and basic obedience. Like your sleep? Maybe a puppy isn’t the best choice as 12-14 week old puppies need to go outside every 2-3 hours as their bladders cannot hold it longer. The time and effort put in now will make her a wonderful companion for years to come. We do require anyone who adopts a dog under 2 years old to get signed up for basic obedience prior to taking the dog home

Requirements: Training sign up required

Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.

Why adoption is a great option

Marty, a Minneapolis Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
