My story

Meet Frankie!

Hey there, my name is Frankie! I was found on the side of a busy county highway in central Wisconsin when some ladies picked me up and took me to my foster mom's house. She looked for my people, and so did the shelter, but no one came to get me. When I was found my fur was a hot mess, but the very next day my foster mom took me to the vet so they could do a sedated groom and get things under control. When she came to pick me up I came bouncing out of the office because I felt soooooo much better. I am living with dogs of all sizes as well as cats and have not had any issues with anyone. I don’t mind kids, and especially love the little ones! I am potty trained! After only a few minutes of being here I figured out the dog door all on my own, I'm smart like that. I'm about 12 years old and I weigh 20 pounds, but probably should lose a few, so I am on a diet. I would not do well in an apartment as I do bark for my food, and noises would make me bark, and I don’t want to annoy anyone. I'm a happy guy that can go on walks or just hang out and chill with you. I can do stairs and I love sleeping on the couch in the sun. I also ride nice in the car. Are you looking for a sweet dude who just loves being with his humans? If so, I'm the guy for you!

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.

Additional adoption info

Albert's Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue providing compassionate care to special needs, senior, and hospice dogs. Our adoption process begins with a completed application. From there, we will review references and vet records. The next step is a home visit with your family. This visit may be in person or virtual.  At that point, if approved, we will set up a meet and greet with available dogs. All dogs have an adoption fee of $275 for a single dog or $500 for (bonded) pair, unless otherwise noted. Note: Pairs must be adopted at the same time to get the reduced adoption fee. -Applications with incomplete information will not be processed. - All current dogs in the home must be spayed or neutered, up to date on rabies vaccination, up to date on DHLPP, up to date on Heartworm testing and preventative. - All cats in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on a rabies vaccination or wellness exam. - None of our dogs will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the adoption application and/or the adoption contract. Albert's Dog Lounge reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone. - You must agree that if you are no longer able to keep your rescue dog for whatever reason, the dog will be returned to Albert's Dog Lounge. The adopter must agree to never attempt to sell or rehome the dog at any point. Our goal is to place our seniors into permanent, loving homes for the rest of their golden years.

More about this rescue

Albert's Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue focused on providing loving homes to seniors, special needs, and hospice dogs. We help dogs in need from overcrowded shelters and also from local families who are no longer able to care for their pets. Albert's Dog Lounge was established in 2017 with the vision to be the stepping stone to a new life for those dogs who are less likely to be rescued, adopted, or at a higher risk for euthanasia.
