My story

Benny the Beagle is an active and friendly 10 year old weighing 22 lbs. He enjoys his walks and walks well on a leash, and likes playing with toys. He is very food and treat motivated. Benny adores his people and wants to be close to them as much as possible. He does bark when left at home alone but settles down quickly. He is house trained, but does best overnight when taken out to potty just before bedtime. He is crate trained but there is not much need to crate him as he is not destructive when left loose in the home. He will enjoy regular exercise and playtime. He is friendly with other dogs and moderately interested in cats. He would be fine in a home with other dog companions, but does not require other dogs to be happy. Giving him a bath is a breeze and he rides well in a car. He loves to sleep close to his people and sleeps well through the night. Benny is heart worm positive but has been through the protocol for slow kill, and will test negative in no time. He can carry on with normal activities like any other dog. We are requiring a home with a secure fenced-in yard for him. Benny was brought into our rescue after being found abandoned in a rural area in the Florida summer heat, so who knows what his past has been. But we do know his future in a loving home as a loyal companion is waiting for him. If you live in the central Florida (Orlando) area and think you have the perfect forever home for Benny, we’d love to find out more about you. Please complete our adoption application and we’ll see if you’re Benny perfect match.

Why adoption is a great option

Benny, a Sanford Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Sanford, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Sanford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sanford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sanford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sanford paves the way for another one to be saved.
