My story

Our pretty girl Miss Henley is a 2-3 year old, 55 lb, German Shepherd mix girl that had a kind rescue couple pay for her required hip surgery and now she is good as new and looking for a home.  This girl is truly a sweetheart and just wants to “belong” to a family or couple that will make her their special girl.

True to her German Shepherd breeding influence, she is an intelligent girl that figures out life pretty fast.  She is a fence jumper if you leave her outside alone.  A privacy fence would be a good idea and someone that can give her continued and constant company to hang out and be a continuing part of your life.  She adores being brushed and this is a good thing since Shepherds do shed.  She is scared of trucks pulling a trailer and we think it is because she may have been dumped out from that sort of vehicle when she was abandoned to be a stray.  She loves her humans and is housebroken and so very loving.  A home with older children who will not leave doors open so she can escape accidentally.

She is fun loving, beautiful and seeking a smart family to love.  If you are interested, please email us at

PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Cavalry give them a chance to have a life?
