Here's what the humans have to say about me:
COURTESY POST: Hi there! My name is Buddy! Why is my name Buddy you ask? Because if you adopt me, I will be your best friend forever! Buddy was found caught in a cat trap and was taken to a local rural shelter. A volunteer spotted him, and knew he was ready to find a family of his own. He is a happy-go-lucky guy, who loves people. He weighs 45 pounds but thinks he is a lap dog. He is very relaxed and is content to lie at your feet and snooze. He loves to take walks and is great on a leash. He is in obedience training and is doing exceptionally well. He knows how to sit, stay and lie down. He takes treats very gently, likes to chew on his bones, and likes to play with toys. He loves to snuggle and give kisses. He would prefer to be an only dog but does well with dogs his own size and bigger. He is between 1-2 years old, and is neutered, vaccinated, crate trained, and is housebroken. Buddy, like all dogs who have been on their own for a while, will need time to adjust to a new home. Please note that we do not recommend Buddy to families with children under 5 or those with another dog under 50 pounds.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
