*****

Ren is 2 yrs old and weighs 100 lbs.  Ren and his brother have become too much for me to care for.  They are fence jumpers and escape frequently.  The electric fence had no effect on them and they have become large enough to jump the fence even with added measures.  Therefore, they are not able to spend the amount of time outside that they need.  With work and school they unfortunately spend most of the day crated. [I, the owner] hate this for them; they are really sweet boys and need someplace more suitable for them.

NOTE:  If Ren and Kylo could be kept together, that would be great.  They are very big dogs, so the guardian knows this may not be an option; they would be fine after an adjustment period and with the right family.

Ren has a shoulder issue and has to occasionally take an anti-inflammatory medication. However, it does not hinder his desire to run, jump, being active, and playing with his brother.

What Ren's current guardian says about children:  Ren has been around children of all ages; he lives with a 13 year old.  He has not spent a lot of time outside the home with children.  He has been around children outside the home during his adventures and has always been friendly.

What Ren's current guardian says about dogs: Ren has not been around other dogs outside of his home, He has had a lot of play times in his home with other dogs and does very well.

What Ren's current guardian says about cats: Ren lives with cats and chases them. He's not mean, rather, playful, but not appealing to the cats.

Ren's current guardian describes his ideal family/home:  Ren would do well in a home with a substantial fence or lots of room to run.  He would do well in a home where he gets lots of attention; he loves to be snuggled but is okay lying by your feet. He will do well with children and other dogs.

More about this rescue

Rescue Well was founded by Christine Sandberg in Baltimore, Maryland in 2011. Since its launch, it’s grown from offering post-adoption support to the city shelter, to offering several programs across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. Our Programs focus on improving the lives of both pets and its owners. We proudly serve without judgment or expectations and we strictly follow our Rescue Well Engagement Model: ENGAGE > EDUCATE > EMPOWER. Our organization’s programs are run by volunteers who are actively engaged in front-line intervention, community support, shelter support, and re-homing services for all pets.
