My story

This dog is located in Houston, TX and is available for adoption to this area. The adoption fee covers the transport cost as well.

Sebastian is a super sweet, happy-go-lucky boy. He is approximately 6 years old. He is moderately active and loves ALL people. He is a major goof ball and is very playful. He was part of an effort to reduce a population of stray dogs in a rough part of Houston where a large group of strays were developing. Rescues came in and pulled a bunch until there was just Sebastian and another dog we think is related somehow. He was very nervous and in rough shape when he first came to the rescue. He had a huge scar on the top of his head that we think he was hit with something at point. He was very thin and had hair loss and was suffering from tons of intestinal parasites, heartworms, ear infections and untreated skin allergies. He is now completely healed, heartworm negative and on a special diet that has gotten rid of the skin issues and ear issues completely. He is now a very healthy boy who would love a forever home. He is nervous with new dogs and does much better with female dogs if they give him time to warm up to them. He is very playful and LOVES toys. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and current on heartworm and flea prevention. Please email westhoustonanimalrescue@gmail.com for more info or an application.

All our pups are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention.

Our adoption process starts with an application and a vet reference.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $450 to fly your dog to the nearest airport that (1) has a direct flight from Houston, TX and (2) can accommodate the size travel crate your dog would fly in. If there is no direct flight, then we do have to schedule flights with layovers. We only use United Airlines because of their PetSafe Program. They are the only airline equipped to fly dogs in year-round weather conditions. The dogs get the same air and heat as in the passenger cabin.

More about this rescue

We rescue dogs from the streets of Houston, TX, vet them, recuperate them from health problems, bring them to full health and then work very hard to get them adopted out-of-state. Houston, TX has over ONE MILLION stray dogs. Thousands of perfectly healthy dogs, along with sick and dying dogs that are picked up, are euthanized every single day. Houston, TX is saturated with dogs. Everyone who WANTS a dog HAS a dog. We can only save lives by getting dogs out of our region. We have found the very best adopters in the Northeast and Northwest U. S. and Canada.
