My story

This handsome pup is only 7  months old and weighs 45 pounds.  His name is Hogan and he and his 3 other siblings were cruelly dumped at a boat ramp in a small town in Tennessee.  The small shelter’s animal control officer came to pick them up and they had a very short time to be there until they would need to be euthanized to make room for a cruelty case that needed to bring dogs in to use their space.  Critter Cavalry Rescue learned of their dire situation and begged some kind and compassionate fosters to make room to take the foursome in. Hogan has such potential in life to be a loving and easy going submissive canine companion.  He is already just the best with other animals of all kinds and he is sweet and loving and just drinking up all the love and affection that the foster is showing him.  She is a very strong leader of dogs and she is showing him confidence, manners and security in living with a human that cares.   He is not fully housebroken but eager to please and smart and just needs some family one on one focus.  He is learning everything quickly and what is expected of him when living in a home.  He is going to take someone committed to finishing his training.  He will need a fenced  yard and he can certainly live with other dogs and probably cats as well as farm animals.  If you qualify to raise such a handsome Lab then please email us for an application. No first time dog owners please.   Please email us

PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?
