My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Special Adopter Needed!
Lily-bug cane to Animal Control with her cat-friend after the sudden death of their owner. Her cat-friend was soon after put to sleep when a huge non-operable tumor was discovered. Lily-bug had lost everything and found herself in a kennel with strangers. She was at Animal Control for 2 months, a shrinking violet who always hid under blankets.
I brought her home to foster and see if she can learn to trust. It has been a month of patience and she’s doing very well!
She’s gone from needing to be coaxed out from under the bed with treats, to allowing petting only when I sat on the floor, to allowing petting while I’m sitting on the bed. Now she’ll even get on the bed with me when I don’t pay attention to her. I can pick her up too!
She doesn’t trust strangers. She doesn’t run and hide under the bed, but she won’t get close to them. Her trust must be earned.
Lily-bug is a friendly though skittish one year old cat that needs an adopter that will work with her and gain her trust. She has the potential to be a wonderful pet. Having a cat-friend that she likes may boost her confidence, but it’s not required.
Are you that special person able to give Lily-bug the love and attention she needs to learn to trust?
TRAITS
Likes a quiet home.
Loves treats. Will take them from my fingers.
Don’t pet her from above her face. Present your hand and let her rub her face on it. Then you can pet her.
She likes to be petted firmly.
Loves to expose her belly but is not crazy about having it petted!
Loves to play by herself and will eventually play with you. She’s afraid of wand toys.
Afraid of fast movements.
Her right cornea is a little cloudy on the right edge from an old ulcer.
