MEEKO IS FINALLY READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! Check out his transformation over the last few months!

Meet Meeko! This guy had a rough puppyhood. He had to deal with mange, a nasty parasite, and a car accident. But he’s not just tough, this sweet boy is a loving little rascal, an excellent cuddler and will sigh laying next to you if you aren’t giving him the proper amount of attention. He loves fetch and give hugs but most of all he wants to be beside you.

He is neutered, house trained, crate trained, and ready to find his home.

Meeko's DNA came back as Australian Cattle Dog mix!

MEEKO'S ADOPTION FEE IS $170

The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.

Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up. All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in. Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!

We do require an application to be completed. This can be completed at www.BarktownRescue.org. Once this is approved, we can set the applicant up with the foster to meet the dog. If the person decides to adopt at that point, we do have a contract that needs to be signed.

Barktown is a place that no matter how small, every life counts. We are here to give dogs a second chance to find the love they deserve. We are advocates for the outcast, a voice for the unwanted. We are a 100% volunteer based rescue; where we rescue because it is our passion, our mission to saves lives. This is not a job for us, but a need to help the helpless.
