My story

Meet Zorro, a 4 year old 50 lb Hound/Shep mix boy who is as sweet as they come. Zorro is an easy going, happy as can be guy who just loves attention from any and all the humans who will give it to him. He would be a good fit for someone who is looking for a one and only companion. Since he is easy going, a dog who wants to play all the time would not be a good match for Zorro; it’s not his style. He is very laid back and would be a fantastic companion for a home that just wants one amazing dog to share a life with. He’s great on a leash, on his walks he likes a nice easy going stroll around a few blocks  - no 10K races for him! He is working on basic commands and is easy to redirect. He is almost completely potty trained. Zorro is all around a great dog to have in the home and is just sweet as can be!

The adoption fee of $300 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here:  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet!

*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. We require an adoption application and a home visit prior to adoption. Go meet their pets

We are not a shelter. We are a group of pet lovers and advocates who are committed to targeted rescue. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff. Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home. We are happy to set up an appointment to meet our pets once we receive and review your completed application. We do our best to process applications quickly but please understand that we are a foster based rescue and that our volunteers work jobs; many are full time. Sending in a completed application is the best way to facilitate this process. You can go on our website and download an application Once your application is reviewed, we will put you in contact with the dog's foster family to set up a time to meet the pet of your choice! Thank you for supporting our rescue and what we are trying to accomplish in southeastern Kentucky.
