My story

Breed: Labrador X
DOB: 11/2018
Gender: male
Altered: yes
Coat: medium
Size: large
Color(s): white/tan
Hi, I'm Nico, a shy and gentle Labrador X who was rescued from a LA shelter. I'm grateful to be given a second chance to find my forever home.

I would make a great running buddy as I enjoyed running with my handler on leash at the LA shelter. I also walk well on leash if you're not into running. Tennis balls are a favorite of mine too.

I'm nervous around new people and I didn't enjoy being thrown in the play yard with other dogs at the LA shelter. I'm in a foster home with another dog and we get along great. If you have a fur baby in the home, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. It's unknown how I'd do with cats and children. But until I gain confidence I might do best in a quiet adult only home or a home with older respectful children.

My first foster gave an update on me. In this foster home I lived with a 35 lb mixed breed female, but my foster mom said I don't care for other dogs when I'm on leash. Nico will absolutely melt your heart. While he's quite shy around new people, once he sees you as a friend, it's all smooth sailing from there. He's the most affectionate dog and loves to cuddle and will follow you around all day. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy and a shadow to follow you around while you do chores, Nico is the guy for you! He is also very playful and loves all toys, tennis balls, and playing fetch just like any good lab.

If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.

*Thank you to Kevin for sponsoring this wonderful dog and giving him the chance for a better life.

More about this rescue

Canine Adoption and Rescue League is a 501(c)(3) Private Non-Profit No-Kill Organization. We rely on donations and do not receive government, state, or city funding. We operate almost entirely by volunteers. Since 1996, Canine Adoption and Rescue League has rescued and placed thousands of unwanted, sick, abandoned, and homeless dogs. Dogs in our adoption program are placed in pre-screened, loving and secure homes. We make a lifetime commitment to all of our dogs. Canine Adoption and Rescue League receives hundreds of calls from people who must find a home for a stray, a litter of puppies or even a family pet. Canine Adoption and Rescue League's mission is to advocate for animal welfare, seeking to end the needless deaths of companion animals through our adoption, education, and outreach programs.
