My story

Meet Magical Miss Maury!

Maury came to Trash Cat Rescue after her mama (Maude), surprised a homeowner by breaking into her house and having kittens in her bathroom.

She and her siblings, Monty and Mackerel, are sweet seven month olds who are a bit shy at first, but who warm up in no time! These guys all love to play with wand toys, wrestle with each other, and purr, purr, purr! Once they are comfortable, these tiny tigers love to be petted and will purr and rub all over you. Maury would love to be adopted with one of her siblings (or her mama!), or go to a home with a cat-friendly resident kitty that she can be friends with. She also met a dog in her previous foster home and was completely unphased. Maury and co are being fostered in a home with children, and they would likely do fine with calm, respectful kiddos.

Maury has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Are you interested in this mesmerizing tabby cat? Please apply today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat. Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
