My story

This sweet 12 yr old senior is SO easy going and laid back. She is blind and can't hear well, but that doesn't stop her from getting around. She wants to be wherever her foster family is, including her foster fur siblings. Her sense of smell and touch allows her to maneuver around quite well. She is not on any medications, and is seeking a loving forever home where she can live out her senior years napping and being doted on, although she is quite independent. Quiet, mellow, and adorable - Onyx is your girl.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Why adoption is a great option

Onyx, a CUMMING Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in CUMMING, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in CUMMING.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in CUMMING already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a CUMMING breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in CUMMING paves the way for another one to be saved.
