My story

I found Taffy one day at work in the parking lot.  He was resting on the mulch next to the sidewalk leading into the building.  Another person was petting him, and he was rubbing his tiny head against that person's legs with earnest.  It was adorable but Taffy didn't get up or move and when we walked away, he meowed the whole time until we walked far enough that we couldn't hear him. Every day after that I would see him in that same spot even in the afternoon when the sun was high, and he could only find a little spot of shade. Every time I saw him, he let me pet him and he meowed as if asking for affection. I worried with the heat that he might not make it long and being too trusting of strangers could be bad too. I saw people left piles of cat food in places but that could cause problems for the building, so after a week of seeing this poor guy panting in the noon summer heat and meowing so pitifully, I decided to see if he'd let me pick him up and he did and I knew then I had to get him somewhere else, somewhere safe and cool and hopefully somewhere where he could find a good home because he was way too sweet and lovable to be left on the streets or left in the Texas summer heat.

He never once scratched or bit me even when I picked him up.  He loves to rub his head on my ankles and flop down on my feet for pets.  He likes the top of the cat tree and to get ear scratches. Whenever I go to check on him, he'll get up and stretch his body really long, like a piece of taffy. He's also willing to snuggle when I lay down. Taffy is a very sweet and affectionate cat.
