Here's what the humans have to say about me:
In Youngstown, Ohio
Meet Frankie. Frankie is an adorable 4yo black tri Australian shepherd who is looking for his new furever home. He weighs in at about 45–50 pounds. He is a very energetic boy who loves to play. He likes to go on walks and does well on a leash (but he does pull sometimes). He also likes to go for car rides and does well in the car with his seatbelt.
Frankie is a very loving dog who attaches to his human family members. He has been raised with a 10 month old child and visits from 2 and 4yo children. He has done well with all of them.
Because he is so attached to his family, Frankie has separation anxiety. When his family starts to leave or show signs that they are about to leave, he gets clingy and anxious. His family felt that Frankie would do better with a family who could give him the time and energy he needs to help him through his separation anxiety.
Frankie is great with other dogs but has not been tested with cats, although he seems to have a lower prey drive. He is housebroken. He was potty trained using a crate, but has not been in one since he was a puppy.
Frankie is neutered, UTD on his vaccines, on flea and HW prevention, and microchipped.
Frankie needs:
A patient, loving family who is home more than they are away.
A dedicated family willing to work with him through his separation anxiety.
An active family who will take him on walks and car rides, and play with him every day.
Frankie wants:
A large fenced yard where he can run off some of his energy and play to his heart’s content.
A friendly, playful doggy brother or sister to run and play with that can help him to see that it's going to be ok when his human family members leave the house for a while.
Possibly some older human children that will play with him and maybe even let him sleep on his bed in their room.
