Sophie is an almost 2 year old female Aussie Shepard mix weighing about 35 pounds. She was found as a stray when she was about 8 months old and is now in need of a new home due to an unresolvable conflict with the existing dog in her house. Due to this conflict she needs to be the only dog in her household.
Sophie is a velcro dog and loves to be with her people. She needs a family with someone who works from home or is home the majority of the day but should be fine to leave for a few hours at a time.
Sophie is an intelligent HIGH energy dog looking for an active family. Her favorite activity is fetching tennis balls so she needs a yard with some space for her to run. She is currently trained on an invisible fence. She is also treadmill trained and currently walks about 45 minutes/2x a day. She walks well on a leash and does fine on neighborhood walks but really enjoys sprinting after those tennis balls!
Sophie is currently on medication to manage her anxiety which may or may not need to continue in her new home but would need a family that is willing to continue with her meds if necessary.
Sophie is a sweet dog who loves scratches, belly rubs and attention. She is very treat motivated and responds well to consistent training. She waits for permission to eat her meals and to go outside.
She is potty trained, up to date on vaccinations. Does not do well in a crate unless she can see her people but has not chewed anything or made any messes when left home alone with free reign.
