From the Foster Family: Fred and his brother were found in parking lot and rescued. He's still a little shy and scared but he's getting braver every day. Fred loves his wet food, climbing the tower, and playing with his brother. I especially love his markings! All his swirls and spots make him look like marble with his cute white socks

About Me: Hi! My name is Fred! I'm a little shy cause everything is new. But I'm enjoying all the perks of inside living. Like the wet food that is super delicious! All the toys and the places to climb and jump from. Will you be my forever friend? I hope so. I can't wait to meet you!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Search adoptable animals & complete application. 2. Application Processing Team will review/process application, conduct background screening & contact vet/personal references. 3. Foster provider schedules a “meet & greet" with applicant. Resident dogs & ALL people (including children) living or frequently visiting the applicant's home are REQUIRED to attend the meet & greet. 4. If the foster provider & adopter agree to move forward, a home visit will be scheduled. Long-distance adopters can request home visit prior to meet & greet to avoid multiple trips. 5. After the home visit is approved, payment & adoption contract will be completed. You will receive your contract via e-mail from DocuSign & your invoice via e-mail from PayPal. PayPal can be paid by credit, debit or PayPal account (you do NOT need a PayPal account). 6. Once payment, adoption contract, & age-appropriate vetting are complete, the new owners can pick up their pet! Adopters are required to bring their own leash & collar at pick-up. Vetting records are sent by email 5-7 business days post-adoption, again, keep an eye on your email during this time, including your spam folder. Sometimes our emails get lost). Adoption fees are non-negotiable or refunded. APPLICATIONS ARE PROCESSED MONDAY-FRIDAY EXCLUDING THE FOLLOWING HOLIDAYS: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Washington's Birthday, Memorial, Independence, Labor Day Columbus, Veteran's Day Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. All communication will be handled electronically.(Keep an eye on your email during this time, including your spam folder, sometimes our emails get lost.) Expect 5-7 business days for processing (more time may be needed to verify info requiring a response/verification). We do not hold animals in care unless there is an age or medical-related situation to inhibit the adoption process with that animal. Applications found to be dishonest or incomplete will be denied. MSAR reserves the right to deny any application for any reason at any time. Rude, negative and harsh conduct towards MSAR volunteers will not be tolerated & will result in dismissal of an application. Mending Spirits Animal Rescue will adopt to any location. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Applying or meeting an MSAR animal does not guarantee adoption. Expect & Respect that multiple applications for the same animal may occur & they may secure/finalize adoptive placement. Unfortunately, this means that sometimes we must redirect great people to another available animal or have to patiently wait for another – please don’t take that personally! REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18 years of age. Meet all of MSAR'S adoption requirements, processes & adoption criteria. Consider age-compatible matches, lifestyle, energy level, size, breed traits, & personalities when choosing a pet. Renters- Only rental appropriate animals will be considered for adoptive placement within rental property or living situation applicant is not the property owner. Residence must allow pets & accept the pet applied for (exception: must verify medical reason exists to allow the pet, as stated by treating physician). No bully, large, working, herding, guardian, type dogs will be permitted. Maintain Pet Retention- have a back-up plan or guardian to cope with personal lifestyle changes (i.e job change, relocation, health-related issues, death, relationship or family member change, behavioral issues, etc). Must seek medical & behavioral support for situations as they arise with all pets. Resident pets- must be altered & current on routine vaccines (exception: only if medical reason exists, as stated by treating veterinarian). ALL adults in the home must pass a background check. DISQUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE : INVOLVEMENT OR CHARGES WITH CRIMES, OFFENSES OR A CRIMINAL HISTORY AT ANY LEVEL INDICATIVE OF ANY VIOLENT OFFENSES, ANIMAL ABUSE/NEGLECT, CHILD ABUSE/NEGLECT, ABUSE/NEGLECT OF A VULNERABLE ADULT, ANY SEXUAL OFFENSES, ASSAULT, THEFT, ARSON, OFFENSES INVOLVING DRUGS, NARCOTICS, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, ROBBERY, BURGLARY, KIDNAPPING, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AND OTHER CHARGES OR INVOLVEMENT WITH CRIMES THAT WE FIND CONCERNING. *ALL DENIALS WILL REMAIN AT THE DIRECT DISCRETION OF MSAR STAFF. VETTING: All dogs/cats are fully vetted through our partner clinics & will not be adopted prior to being spayed/neutered, microchipped, given preventatives: species, season & age-specific, vaccinated & tested. Spayed/Neutered: All dogs/cats will be altered prior to adoption, NO EXCEPTIONS. Puppies must be 8 weeks of age to be spayed/neutered. Kittens must be 8 weeks of age & weigh 2 lbs to be spayed or neutered. Birds, reptiles, female rabbits, exotic animals, & small rodents are not altered. Tested: (dogs heartworm 12+months months of age & cats FeLV tested at 6+ months of age). Vaccines: Core vaccines will be administered & age-appropriate to the day the adoption contract is signed & payment is made in full. Preventatives: All animals are given dewormer & heartworm preventative (species, season and age-specific) while in foster care. Bio Descriptions: Are written for each animal & completed by the foster provider. The bio is established from medical records & direct observations from the foster provider while in care. We cannot guarantee the animal's behavior outside the observed environment. Adoption Fees: Are based on the animal's age & health. Fee will be listed with bio description. Many Of Our Animals Are Mixed Breeds: Our staff, the shelter staff where they come from, & a veterinarian, all might have a difference of opinion about the breed. We make our best guess but CANNOT guarantee breed.

More about this rescue

MENDING SPIRITS is a team comprised of committed volunteers, foster homes, licensed veterinarians, trainers, and educators. We are able to successfully rescue animals from animal impound, high kill facilities, owner surrenders, strays, and puppy mills then place them into well-paired, permanent homes. We serve as a rescue for the community while we educate and advocate responsible pet ownership, overpopulation control, spaying/neutering, behavioral management, training, proper preventative and maintenance care.
