My story

Beautiful Gemma was a stray in Castle Hayne, NC with her 2 kittens. She has complete heterochromia with one blue eye and one gold. We ran a DNA test on her and found she is 55% Domestic, 13% equally Persian, Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest Cat, with a dash of Siberian and Scottish Fold!

Gemma is a little shy at first, but we are working to help her feel comfortable indoors and be a content house cat. She never bites or lashes out, but will take a little time to settle in to a new home. We want her to have the easiest transition possible, so no young children or dogs. She is fine with other cats.

All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Please fill in our application via this link: http://www.felinematchmakers.org.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

An application is required in order to determine if the cat is the right match for you.

2.

Meet the Pet

You may meet the cat at our foster home or a mutually agreed location.

3.

Approve Application

If you rent, we must have landlord approval. All current pets in the household must be up to date on vaccinations.

4.

Take the Pet Home

The cat will be delivered and a home check done to be sure it's a safe environment. The adoption fee is collected.

5.

Interview

A few follow ups will be made via text. The animal may be returned at any time if the adoption doesn't work out.

Additional adoption info

We aim to match the right family with the right cat and vice versa. If we don't have the right cat for you, we can find one!

More about this rescue

Faith McNitt started Feline Matchmakers in January of 2020. We are a small organization that focuses on owner surrenders. The larger organizations focus on shelter pulls, so we feel this is the most needed service in Wilmington, NC. We also work TNR cases in small numbers. We are looking for fosters to build our organization. All fosters work on a charity basis, as we do not yet have the funding to pay for anything other than medical expenses. If interested in joining us to save cats from being euthenized or put in shelters, please contact us.
