My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling all frisbee players--this kid has got some air! Leo is more like a kangaroo than a lion, he LOVES to play ball and loves to jump in the air to catch it!

In fact...Leo was 'retired early' from his first job herding livestock as his original owner noticed that he thought playing with his ball was WAY more fun than chasing a bunch of other animals. That's when he came to our attention, and we brought him in from Utah to try his hand at search and rescue work. Although he has all the stuff needed (a nose that won't quit, plenty of energy, stamina, physical prowess, high toy drive, and crazy hunting skills)--he did not like working on our rubble pile (a practice disaster scene) so he's now looking for his next new life.

He would be AMAZING at agility, nosework, flyball, treiball...probably any dog sport. Seriously fit and athletic--you can see his jumps in his photos.

Leo is the full package! In addition to being a super fun playmate and sport partner, he is also pleasant on leash, good on hikes, affectionate with a sweet disposition. He's been described as 'a gentleman.' That's with people...with other dogs he can be a little bossy...but he is a herding dog... For an active dog like Leo, it's nice to know that he also has an off-switch. When he gets comfy with you, he will probably get comfy with you on the couch or wherever you'd like.

If you're looking for a sport partner, outdoor adventure buddy, or a dog to do fun stuff with, Leo is your man. He would love to leap into his next new life with you!

Random factoid: he's missing a toe. We don't know why, but think it adds to his charm.
