My story

Meet the adorable and loving Pistachio. This sweet boy is a 14 week old Russian Blue / Domestic Shorthair mix. Pistachio thought he had found his forever family but unfortunately they turned out to be allergic and he’s searching for a new family to love. This boy loves to play and hopes you’ll have plenty of toys to share with him. After he gets out some of his kitten energy, he enjoys curling up on a comfy lap for some pets and a little rest. Pistachio is a wonderful kitten and will be a great addition to any family.

If you are not located near our rescue or if the drive is a problem for you, please still apply, as we bring animals out to as far as San Diego in order to bring them to their forever homes. Currently, we are driving animals far out on an as-needed basis!

If an animal is posted from us, they are AVAILABLE, however we sometimes do already have an adopter in place to meet them - however, please apply directly ASAP to ensure you get considered to meet them! We approve based on the best home, not first-come-first-serve.

If you are interested in adopting and think you can provide a great home for this pet, please complete an online application so that we can better assess if this pet is a good match for you and your family. Once that is complete and we've approved you, we can set up a time for you to meet your potential companion for life! We are strictly by appointment-only. We apologize if you cannot reach us via phone, it is a personal phone # - we recommend emailing at cats@vida4animals.org for the quickest response. We apologize if we do not get to you quickly - we only have a few staff and volunteers, and we must focus on finding our animals good homes, but if you would like to help us improve and volunteer, let us know!

Why adoption is a great option

PISTACHIO, a Irvine Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Irvine, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Irvine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Irvine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Irvine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Irvine paves the way for another one to be saved.
