My story

Meet Ziva!

Ziva came to us in May of 2022 from a large hoarding case with 40+ dogs. She and all of her friends were suffering from a non-contagious form of mange called Demodex, caused by malnutrition. They had also received little to no human interaction, and were very scared of us and our staff. After several months of medicated baths, rounds of medications, and lots of socialization, she is now ready to find her forever home. Although Ziva can still take a moment to open up to new faces, once she trusts you she is the biggest goofball. She is food motivated and learning more every day that people are friends and is doing fantastic! Although she is doing great with new faces, she always seems to be more comfortable and opens up quickly when she's around another dog. She has made many, many doggy friends in her time here, and we would be thrilled if she went home with one of them! Now that Z is comfortable and healthy, she is coming back to her true personality. Ziva, in fact, is a bit of a diva! She has sass for days and will serenade you with her hound songs. She is, of course, a hound mix, estimated to have been born in April of 2019 and weighing in around 35-40lbs. She is great with dogs and cats, although she has not been around kids. She loves everyone when she's with another dog, so we think she would be great with kids too. She is learning how to sit and is always ready to learn new things as long as treats are involved. Ziva has spent a lot of time kenneled with lots of other dogs, and loses confidence when she's alone. We do require Ziva to be adopted into a home with other dogs.

Unfortunately, due to the situations she was raised in, Ziva has some long term medical conditions. She has chronic high blood pressure, and chronic occular pressure. While maintained with medications, these are not issues that should bother her in her day-to-day. She will need to remain on blood pressure medication and medicated eye drops twice daily for the rest of her life.

ZZ is fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped with an adoption fee of $175.
