My story

Oreo is a year old Border/Lab that was pulled from a kill shelter in Ga.. He has been in a foster home since. He has been vetted, neutered, shots, chipped. He is heartworm negative. He is great with other dogs, good with kids and all people.. He is a young boy and still has puppy like mannerisms.. He will need leash work and some training. Housebroken, crate trained, loves to play with toys.

Oreo is now recovering from surgery from an obstruction. The culprit was a cloth.. So he gets no blankets or towels in his crate.. Remember he is still a pup, and people familiar with labs know that they dont mature until they are much older!!!!!

This is an active boy. He will need an active family that can take him along on camping trips, water play, hiking, jogging partner, all around active buddy.. He may be just fine for performance sports also. Just an all around good natured sweet family dog!!! We are in need of a Florida foster or adopter for him so we can get him down from Georgia.. He is soooo ready for his new home!!  Applications can be found at

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We conduct home visits. There is an adoption fee that is usually around $250 per dog to cover any expenses we have incurred. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Go meet their pets

Since all rescue dogs live in our homes with us or in foster homes, you will need to travel to meet any dog you might want to adopt. You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one on one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are a highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary. It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
