My story

Pretty Pandora was hanging out with her 2 kittens, taking shelter in a Wilmington, NC warehouse. A cat loving employee who previously adopted from us asked us for help. We trapped Pandora and her 2 kittens (who are already adopted.) Pandora had been living rough for a while, so she went in to foster care to get her used to being inside and having human contact. Although she will take a little while to adapt to a new home, she is now very comfortable lounging on beds and rolling in cat nip. She is not the kind of cat that can be picked up and snuggled, but she does enjoy scratches under the chin and a calm environment. Her best friend is a senior long haired cat called Chippy. She makes friends pretty fast with other nice cats, but we do not recommend homes with active dogs or children.

3.

Approve Application

If you rent, we must have landlord approval. All current pets in the household must be up to date on vaccinations.

4.

Take the Pet Home

The cat will be delivered and a home check done to be sure it's a safe environment. The adoption fee is collected.

Interview

A few follow ups will be made via text. The animal may be returned at any time if the adoption doesn't work out.

More about this rescue

Faith McNitt started Feline Matchmakers in January of 2020. We are a small organization that focuses on owner surrenders. The larger organizations focus on shelter pulls, so we feel this is the most needed service in Wilmington, NC. We also work TNR cases in small numbers. We are looking for fosters to build our organization. All fosters work on a charity basis, as we do not yet have the funding to pay for anything other than medical expenses. If interested in joining us to save cats from being euthenized or put in shelters, please contact us.
