Hello! We meet again! It’s me, Smokey!
In case you are new here and didn’t read about me, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a beautiful boy who is only 3 years old and is looking for his forever home. I really enjoy playing with other dogs and would love to have a doggie sibling or a lot of puppy play dates. I don’t really care much about playing chase but if you throw in a rope and a dog, you have a party in my opinion! I just love playing tug of war or just simply sharing doggie toys with others. I am a bit mouthy when I play but it’s only because I am so happy and excited! I enjoy meeting new people and other dogs but I do get a little nervous sometimes when I get pets or when I hear some loud noises. Once I am comfortable with people, I will ask for some pets and even snuggle on laps! Also, butt scratches are the best thing out there!!
When out on walks, I still get excited when I see other dogs and if I see a squirrel, I feel the need to inform everyone there is one! When I come inside after being outdoors, I have learned how to lay down so my paws can be wiped and so I can get a belly rub! I have also mastered how to sit and I am working on drop/give and up/down for furniture.
Squeaky toys and treats are still my favorite but I have also discovered ice cubes! Oh my! They are awesome!! All these things help me learn new things and I bet that with some patience, I could learn so many more! I do get a little excited when I am taking a treat so I need to learn how to be gentle. I mean, I just love treats!! My foster mom says I make an amazing little vacuum cleaner because I help her clean up any little crumb that could have fallen as she cooked!
Even though I am still young and have a lot of playful energy, I thoroughly enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon, cuddling away on the couch, and hopefully getting butt and back scratches!
I still enjoy hunting for little lizards, bugs, spiders…anything out there! Who needs a cat when they have me to hunt those pesky little things!!
One of my special characteristics that hasn’t changed at all is that when I am playing and get excited, I will dance on my hind legs and wave my front paws at you!
I am looking for a family who won’t mind playing tug of war with me, a family who enjoys snuggling and giving and receiving all the love that I have! I am ready to become someone's best friend!
