My story

Willow is a beautiful, 3 year old Lab/Malamute mix. Her ideal weight would be around 70-80lbs. She is currently weighing in at 100lbs and so she will need to lose some weight!

Willow is currently living in a home that is not an ideal situation for her. She is not getting the exercise or training that she needs. In her current home, she resource guards with the humans and the other small dog in the home. If a person tries to take something from her, she will nip at you. To help ease her reactions, she has been put on Prozac which has helped.

She needs a quiet home where her owner has the time and patience to provide her positive reinforce training. If the adopters are in Kitsap County, KARE will help provide training support. No other dogs, cats, chickens or other small animals, as well as no small children. Fenced in yard required.

Interestingly enough, she does very well at the dog park! She is very friendly with all dogs and humans there! She has never resource guarded or nipped at anyone outside of her home.

This beauty needs a second chance! She is very loving and loves to play!

More about this rescue

We are a local, non-profit organization based out of Kitsap County that rescues adoptable dogs and cats that may not thrive in the shelter environment and simply need a good home and a little training and TLC to make them great pets. Additionally, KARE provides education programs, benefiting the community by helping to reduce or eliminate behaviors in at-risk dogs that cause pets to be relinquished in the first place.
