My story

Quinoa was part of a pack of 11 little dogs running freely through a rural GA town. Quinoa is coming along a little quicker than her brother Farro in socialization because of her young age. Quinoa will need a home that will continue her training and understands where she is coming from. She loves other dogs and does well with cats. Because of the lack of socialization, she would probably not be a best fit for a family with children. Quinoa is crate trained but working on potty training. Does well on a leash once trust is built but will need a securely fenced in yard until strengthening a bond. She loves hanging out in a kiddie pool to beat the summer heat and looks up to the other dogs so having another dog in the family is ideal.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Why adoption is a great option

Quinoa, a CUMMING Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in CUMMING, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in CUMMING.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in CUMMING already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a CUMMING breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in CUMMING paves the way for another one to be saved.
