My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Frisco!

How y’all doing?! My name is Mr. Frisco and I’d like for you to pull up a chair while I tell you a little about myself ! I am a 12 year old fella who, despite a little joint pain in my back legs, keeps on trucking! I weigh a little over 18 pounds, and could lose a few pounds, which would help with my joint pain. Crates make me howl a bit, but I sleep in a bed just fine. I’m fully potty trained and as long as you walk me frequently I won’t have any “accidents.” If I have to go in the night I will use a potty pad or belly band but usually I let you know right away. I also get a bit of eye meds once a day for my dry eyes. I love car rides, snuggles, and making a nest out of blankets. I like getting to know cats, but I did find out they don’t like you sniffing their back sides… oops! I love to play with my Binky and my puzzle game to find my treats, kinda like my hunting days when I was a young whipper snapper! As I’ve gotten older my back end has gotten weaker, but I love to run around with other dogs and go on walks! I just take a pill for my joints and I'm ready to run again! I miss my teenage humans and foster dog brother Jack from Georgia but I'm making friends with my new cat sisters. Most of all I love a good petting and scratching on my back side in that hard to reach spot above my tail. I sure hope someone falls in love with me soon, because I'm so excited to find a family of my own to love right back!

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
