Meet Elton! He is a rockstar in the play yard, great with dogs of all sizes and LOVES people. He is a young, fun, happy boy and can't wait to be in a loving home. At only 8 months old he is well mannered and will develop well with additional training. Like all our dogs, Elton is eligible for 6 weeks of free training in our Prison Training Program once adopted to brush up on her basic commands, crate training and loose leash walking skills.

More about this rescue

Paws For Life K9 Rescue pulls its dogs from city and county shelters. Often, we choose dogs in need of socialization and training which we place with our incarcerated trainers throughout California State Prisons. We do this because they can dedicate all of their time to their rehabilitation. After several months of training, our dogs are ready for family life after completing their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. Some are trained to become service animals for military veterans with PTSD. By lowering euthanasia rates and preparing dogs for service-jobs, PFL is proving that everyone deserves a second chance.
