My story

Ben, Benji, Bubba, Benny, Benito… We have so many names of endearment for this precious boy. Meet Benjamin, a ten-year-old Yorkie mix hailing from Austin Animal Center. You’d never know from looking at his picture but he has made quite a transformation thanks to our friends over at wash-shake-wag. When this doggy arrived at our clinic, his fur was sadly covered in burrs, mats and dirt. We made a quick call and they cleaned him right up! Benjamin’s story is somewhat of a mystery. He arrived in rough shape, but his demeanor suggests that he must have had a loving family at some point in his life. This pup is easygoing, friendly and sprightly for his age. He enjoys being around people and makes for a quiet, loving desk buddy. Benjamin also walks well on his leash and appears to be potty trained. He is a good boy who would greatly appreciate a comfortable home in which he can live out the rest of his days. If you’re in the market for a pup with some life experience, adopt this sweet senior!

Why adoption is a great option

Benjamin, a San Antonio Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Lhasa Apso for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
