Ready to adopt? Just fill out the adoption form at the Animal Care Center, provide a valid form of government-issued identification with photo (i.e., driver's license), and pay the adoption fee. The maximum cost for a Los Angeles City resident to adopt a dog is $150. The maximum cost to adopt a cat is $50. The cost to adopt a rabbit is $71. Adoption fees include vaccinations and spaying/neutering for dogs, cats, and rabbits; microchipping for dogs and cats; and the first year license fee for dogs. Microchipping for rabbits is available for an additional $15. The Animal Care Centers accept payment by cash, check, or credit card (name on credit card must match the name on the photo identification).
