My story

This little white ball of fluff is CANDY!🍭

Candy is a 9-year-old Poodle mix who came to us from our local shelter after being surrendered by her long-time owner due to housing issues. She had a bit of trouble adjusting to the shelter environment but has been able to relax and unwind within a foster home.🏠

Her foster mom reports that she's a smart cookie and knows the "sit" and "stay" commands. She's also very perceptive that a zip of the coat could mean WALKIES! Some of her favorite things in the world are squeeky toys and riding in the car with her head out the window.🚗

While our foster is still getting to know all the ins and outs of sweet Candy girl, we've found she can take some time to warm up to new people and is quite nervous around children. But that she is loyal to her people and is quite calm, quiet, and well-mannered in the home.

If you're interested in learning more about this cotton ball of a queen, we're happy to chat about whether she might be right for you! Because she's in a foster and not at the shelter, readily available to be seen, start by filling out an Adopter's Profile and we'll go from there!🥰

Additional adoption info

In response to COVID-19, and the current social distancing rules, all of our animals are now being housed in foster homes and our adoption procedures have changed. Please read the following ADOPTION STEPS on our website for further details! **Please Note: Most of our adoptions are beginning with a foster-to-adopt period, and because of this, we are temporarily unable to consider applications from households outside the counties of: Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Monterey. If you rent, please have a copy of your lease or a letter from your landlord that states you can have a pet(s) ready. If you’re adopting a dog, introduce your future friend to any other dogs in the family (dog adoptions only).
