My story

Miss Skye is a real people person (I mean kitty). She is friendly and loves affection. She is also calm and gentle. She is on the pettite and slender side but could gain a few pounds. She was found after giving birth and her kittens had been taken from her. She loves other cats even though she hisses at them at first. Skye is just an all around great gal looking to find a family to call her own. If you would like to meet her, please go to our website www.schspets.org and complete an adoption application. You can also contact our shelter at 870-269-5200 or visit at 17379 Highway 9, Mountain View, Arkansas.

More about this shelter

The Stone County Humane Society is a 501(C)(3) private organization, not a government entity that was formed in 1999. We rescue dogs and cats and are a no-kill shelter but we are not an open take in facility. We are currently operating from our new shelter building recently completed in August 2016 and a cat cottage. Our organization is managed by a volunteer board of 10 individuals and a full-time paid employee shelter manager that handles the day to day operations, and three part-time paid employees that feed and care for the animals and keep the facility clean. Most of our daily operations are funded by proceeds from a Second Chance Shop in town and donations from individuals. We also provide low cost spay/neuter clinics to the people of our county with help from a local vet.
