Odin Marshall is 10 years old and weighs 55-60lbs; he's neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  He fears/dislikes thunder; loves car rides, and is clicker trained for sit, lay down, and no.

Odin Marshall's current guardian states the following about the reason she is rehoming him:  Odin Marshall's guardian has a young child and it seems after 10 years and having his own space it is hard for him.  He is food aggressive and although his guardian feeds him separately he is getting older and feels he would be more comfortable with a family of love and no children.  She hates doing this, but she doesn't want the dog and her child to have issues and have something bad happen.

BITE INCIDENT:  Not within the past 10 days.  He bit the child, broke the skin, Animal Control was not involved, but the child received medical treatment.  Guardian's husband had a cookie in his hand he was going to give the child; instinctively, Odin Marshall went for the cookie and caught the child's face in the process.  The doctor stated it was not an aggressive bite and was not an attack; he was being a dog and going for a treat.

Odin Marshall's current guardian states the following about children:  He is a lover and wants to play.  He gets very excited and has to be watched because he is large and believes he's a chihuahua.  They get along, he loves and protects her but doesn't want an accident to occur because he is a big goofy dog around kids.

Odin Marshall's current guardian states the following about dogs:  They only go to dog park and play, walk, and snuggle - he was his guardian's therapy dog of sorts when she got out of the Army.  He barks at other dogs but pays them no mind unless other dogs continue.

Odin Marshall's current guardian states the following about cats:  Although he's lived with cats, he doesn't like them.

Odin Marshall's current guardian states the following about his ideal new home:  He would be great in a fenced-in yard and a loving home with someone or a pair who will walk him, love him, cuddle him, tell him he's a good boy, let him play and let him live out his days helping them now as he has helped his guardian through the years.

More about this rescue

Rescue Well was founded by Christine Sandberg in Baltimore, Maryland in 2011. Since its launch, it’s grown from offering post-adoption support to the city shelter, to offering several programs across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. Our Programs focus on improving the lives of both pets and its owners. We proudly serve without judgment or expectations and we strictly follow our Rescue Well Engagement Model: ENGAGE > EDUCATE > EMPOWER. Our organization’s programs are run by volunteers who are actively engaged in front-line intervention, community support, shelter support, and re-homing services for all pets.
