My story

Baby Clove, estimated dob 7/4/22, has just been handed a one way ticket to the good life! He is absolutely the friendliest kitten who joined rescue with his mom, Cayenne.  They love each other so much - Clove is Cayenne's mini me, very smart and playful!  He has stunning features and his purr is very enduring.  Although he may be shy at first, Clove is quick to warm up with a full on chatter box! His favorite game is being flipped on his back in your lap while stretching out his arms for belly rubs!  He adores toys and walks around the house with his mouse toy in tow most of the time.  This guy is great with everyone and even gentle with the little babies.  He and mom, Cayenne, would be a great addition to your home.

Due to Clove and his momma, Cayenne, being so bonded they will need to be adopted together.

The suggested adoption donation for Clove and his momma, Cayenne, is $150.  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $306,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.

Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.

If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance.

Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.

More about this rescue

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed in 2014 by a small group of devoted animal lovers, in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, with many years of rescue experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs. Our rescue focuses on small breed dogs, less than 35 pounds, of any age. It is all volunteer based, and all of our rescue dogs are living in the homes of our volunteers. Our rescue is unique in that we offer supportive services, such as education and training, to owners considering relinquishing their pet in an effort to try to keep the dog in their home whenever possible. We also educate and offer placement assistance to owners attempting to rehome their pets through social media sites, which can often be risky for the pets as well as the owners.
