- Due to factors beyond our control, transport costs for these pups were much higher than what we have been accustomed to - costs for health certificates and medical + transport for each dog with no allowances for shared crates were $335 per dog. With these factors taken into account, as well as the care needs for these particular pups, we need to request a donation above our normal request. We are asking for a donation of $850 from each adopter. The same $600 will be used to support our program and the additional $250 will be used toward the cost of transport. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.
- ONE application per household. We will only consider your family for one of our available puppies so please apply for only one.
- Melvin is required to go to a family with brachycephalic breed experience. We strongly recommend he goes to a family with another adult dog.

Personality: Melvin is an energetic, curious puppy! He loves exploring new parts of the house. When he goes outside, he likes to chase leaves. He also likes his reflection and will often try to play with himself in the reflection. Melvin is super tolerant too! He lets his foster mommy wipe his paws and his facial folds without issue.
Favorite Activities: Melvin LOVES getting pets from strangers and gets excited whenever anyone walks by. He likes to chase his ball and play tug of war. Melvin also likes to nap in your lap and has very cute dreams!
Training: He will need a family to continue training and socializing him so he can be the well-rounded adult we know he can be!
Why did he come to WISE?: WISE recently rescued a group of dogs who were throw aways from an Amish breeding puppy mill. When the "breeder" decided that the dogs were no longer needed for breeding, he planned to euthanize them. WISE and other rescues stepped up to rescue them.
