My story

Celina was left on the side of a busy dusty road in the outskirts of Cairo like a heap of rubbish. By happenstance, a dog rescuer was driving by and saw Celina just sitting by the curb with no food or water. Nobody had stopped to help her or move her out of harms way. What is wrong with people?

This older gorgeous Snowshoe part Siamese cat obviously was owned by a family at one time because of her gentle sweet nature. Celina was taken to a veterinary clinic in Cairo to be spayed and vetted. Because of her drooling the rescuer raised money to get Celina a dental. She had 3 teeth pulled.

We were thrilled to receive Celina after an arduous 2 day flight in a carrier. Celina is definitely an older girl in the 10 year range. We think her life was probably not full of love or luxury so she could look older than she actually is.

Celina still drooled despite a dental overseas. We took her to a very experienced vet to examine her. The poor cat had to have every tooth pulled due to extreme stomatitis. You would never know she is toothless because she eats everything she can munch on. We had blood work done and she tested FIV+ which explains her bad mouth.

Celina is truly a survivor. She is so sweet and loving and wants so badly to park her little self next to you and close her eyes with contentedness.

Please do not be afraid of FIV. Cats live a wonderful healthy life. Good vigilant care and high quality food is the best prescription for these cats.

We are hoping there is a loving and understanding family out there willing to adopt Celina and just love her. We have done as much vet care as we can for Celina so that now she just needs a family to open their home and heart to this wonderful innocent older kitty who was dealt a pretty bad deck of cards.
