Faith is an adorable sweet 5 month old, 40lb Walker Coonhound puppy who has been blind her entire short life. Our eye specialist determined that at a young age she had an infection behind her eyelids which caused her to develop a corneal perforation in both of her eyes. The perforations sealed well, which sadly caused permanent vision loss. Faith is otherwise a healthy, playful and beautiful and happy gal. She loves other dogs in her foster home she already learned her way around thanks to the other dogs. She also has learned house training remarkably fast. The eye specialist said Faith would do best in a home with a middle age “retriever type dog” who would love a companion. A dog who loves other dogs, has the patience for a puppy and would show Faith around and help her find her way. A home that has at least one person with Faith during the day and not away for more than 2-3 hour stretches would be ideal at least during her first year. (Full grown female Coonhounds weigh around 50lbs). If you are interested in adopting Faith you may fill out our non binding Rescue a Pet application on our website APSofPC.org. Her adoption donation is $300.00
