My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brownie may have a wise gray face, but on the inside she still has the soul of a puppy! She loves chasing a tennis ball, splashing around in water, and begging for ice cubes from the freezer. Though she weighs a mere 40 pounds, her personality fills the room, so she needs to be the only animal in a home. Don't worry, she will singlehandedly keep your yard free of any unwanted birds or squirrels! She also did well on a short day trip out of the shelter with older children. After she gets her zoomies out, she likes to chew on a bone or have her belly rubbed. During quiet times, she'll lay close by you and keep an eye on the neighborhood happenings. She doesn't just wag her tail, she wags her whole back end! She is fully house trained and very quiet, though she will bark once if she really needs your attention. She is still working on crate training, but she has no trouble staying in an enclosed room alone during the workday. On walks, she will initially pull because she's just so excited to be outside, but then will settle into a loose leash stroll as long as there is plenty of space between her and other dogs. She is incredibly smart and motivated by both food and praise from her humans. She knows sit and lay down, and is working on stay. Brownie came to the shelter as a very anxious animal who had suffered unknown trauma in the years of her life before this. When she spent some time out of the shelter in foster, she showed that she has the potential to be a loyal, reliable companion as long as she is given patience and structure. Can you give her the life she has always wanted?
