This gentleman has as many sides to him as a rubics cube. Soft, silly, serious, loyal, outgoing, strong and friendly...these are a few of his notable sides. Sometimes he looks and acts like a puppy and sometimes a wise older guy.
His name is Rex and he's had quite the adventurous life so far. He was originally found at a shelter in the Bay Area and snapped up by a working dog recruiter looking for a dog with his drive and skills. He went on to train for explosives detection and worked for four plus years doing just that. He lived and worked with different handlers in different home scenarios. He's now ready to retire and start the next phase of his colorful life, preferably with you!
Here are a few things reported by some good Samaritans recently giving him shelter on his journey to find you: He LOVES water (even baths) and TOYS TOYS TOYS! He has impeccable house manners. He's been fine around small children. In general he is outgoing with people, but he really likes to attach to his special person, whoever that may be. No interest in cats or bicycles. Likes his food, but doesn't guard it. Very interested in other dogs, but able to walk on leash with neutrality in a pack walk. He is physically strong and will pull on leash if left to his own devices. He is well-trained with obedience skills from his past working life. He has a delicious off-switch.
Rex Rex and Rex!
Everyone who has met him along the way has fallen a little in love with him. He deserves a special someone and a nice retirement life filled with love, fun, toys and you.
If only he could talk...(he would probably make us laugh and cry at the same time! That's just the kind of guy he is...)
