My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Osa, and I am IN LOS ANGELES looking for my forever home! I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea by the DoVE Project. My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family!

ID/NAME: Osa
SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Female/45lbs/3 years 3 mos
BIRTH DATE: May 18, 2019
BREED: Jindo Mix
VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER/HEALTH: Vaccinations up-to-date. Spayed and Microchipped.

Osa is a regal, gentle pup that craved love and cuddles the moment she arrived in the US in 2019, according to her original adopters. The adopters say Osa was a timid puppy then and today she remains weary around strangers. It usually takes 3-4 introductions before she warms up, but she always does. Osa is always ready for any hike, or car ride, a visit to the groomer or the snow. She is just a happy and frisky pup that does great outdoors, at dog parks, or going to doggie day care. Being a bit timid, Osa does best with well-adjusted dogs or dogs under 30lbs.

Osa will need someone that will provide structure and enough mental and physical stimulation for her to thrive. Tragically, Osa has been surrendered by her original adopters because they are no longer able to care for her properly and are devastated to have to give her up. They have stated that they will "happily keep her here as our family member until another loving individual, couple or family opens their hearts and home to her. We do need to find a home as soon as possible however. The longer we wait, the harder it will be".

ABOUT JINDOS
Jindos are known for their fierce loyalty, high intelligence, rarely barking, and playful nature. They make great indoor family dogs, as Jindos are clean and easily housetrained, and are faithful to family members. They are also mid-level active and love being socialized at dog parks, going on hikes, and joining the family on trips.

*********************************
DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names.

Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process
