My story

Astro is located in Houston, Texas and is available for transport to this area.

Astro is 2-3 years old. He is very sweet and friendly with people and so far has done very well with smaller dogs he’s been around. He gets a little nervous around other big dogs so we are taking it slow with him. He is very affectionate and just wants to be by people all the time. He doesn’t know any strangers and is getting work with in a foster home on basic obedience, leash walking and kennel/potty training and has done very well so far. He has been neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for heartworms. If you would like more info please email westhoustonanimalrescue@gmail.com

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $450 to fly your dog to the nearest airport that (1) has a direct flight from Houston, TX and (2) can accommodate the size travel crate your dog would fly in. If there is no direct flight, then we do have to schedule flights with layovers. We only use United Airlines because of their PetSafe Program. They are the only airline equipped to fly dogs in year-round weather conditions. The dogs get the same air and heat as in the passenger cabin.

More about this rescue

We rescue dogs from the streets of Houston, TX, vet them, recuperate them from health problems, bring them to full health and then work very hard to get them adopted out-of-state. Houston, TX has over ONE MILLION stray dogs. Thousands of perfectly healthy dogs, along with sick and dying dogs that are picked up, are euthanized every single day. Houston, TX is saturated with dogs. Everyone who WANTS a dog HAS a dog. We can only save lives by getting dogs out of our region. We have found the very best adopters in the Northeast and Northwest U. S. and Canada.
