My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zizou (pronounced Zee-Zoo) came to us as an owner surrender. He's an incredibly sweet boy that gets along with everyone and everything! Zizou is such an easy-going pup and loves to be by your side at all times.

Whether cuddling with you on the couch or by your feet working at home. He'll let you know when he needs to go outside (pawing at you) and knows how to use the doggie door. Zizou loves to play with squeaky toys and tennis balls. And LOVES walks! Once he knows the lay of the land he gets around just fine, even with cataracts.

But Zizou will need help getting up and down long staircases for his safety but small steps are ok. Not that you'll mind, but Zizou will whine to get up on the bed to snuggle under the covers with you. He's the perfect gentleman and would love a furever home to call his own!

Current location: Richmond, VA
Adoption Fee: $275

Ready to Apply to Adopt? Visit www.bostonterriertn.org!

Please use the foster momma or dad's contact information above for questions.

The process always begins with an application which can be found at The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website

Note that in most cases, we do not adopt to families with small children, e.g., 'under 6,' as a precaution to the child's safety and the dog's safety. In some cases with larger Boston mixes or other dogs, we do make exceptions. Please ask the foster momma.

We prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog.  The East Coast division (NC/SC/VA/MD/DC) does have special transport capabilties for their kids.   Ask them.

Also, submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Online application which requires 3 personal references, a vet reference and all animals in the home must be spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccines and on heartworm preventative.

If these steps are all approved, then we do a home visit, have the adopter sign a contract and pay the adoption fee prior to picking up the dog from the foster home.

We have no physical facility, all our animals are in private foster homes throughout the state of Florida.

More about this rescue

Our main goal is to save Boston Terriers but we also accept Boston mixes. We take owner surrenders and pull from shelters (we'll never leave one behind in a shelter to die, even if it's injured or a senior). We also take in abandoned animals and help other rescues who have saved Bostons and can't get them adopted. We treat all of our Bostons like family members and we do what we can to help the senior dogs live their lives out comfortably.
