My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

10/2/22 PUPDATE: BEAN (Beanie Wienie)! BEAN is now 4 months old and was a sick little boy when he was found lost and huddled outside a monsoon storm! After 1.5 months of TLC and medical care for giardia, a GI infection and anemia, BEAN has DOUBLED his weight and now weighs 8 lbs.!
BEAN has been de-wormed, treated with flea and tic prevention, heart worm prevention, is vaccinated, microchipped, pee pad trained, and most important...this little mini wienie-hound mix is HAPPY and HEALTHY!

BEAN is a sweetheart, playful, not hyper, a barker or a chewer, loves to go for car rides, also loves to play fetch & retrieve and knows the commands to sit and stay. But BEANER's missing one thing......a loving FUREVER HOME!

BEAN is living at Puppy Dog Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary in Las Cruces, NM. Please email Laurie at puppydogranch@rocketmail for an adoption application or if you have questions. PDR's guidelines also include the adopter to have an appropriately fenced and locking gated yard, and provide proof that BEAN has been neutered at 4-6 months of age.

9/29/22 PUPDATE: BEAN is strong, healthy and playful! Today's Vet Visit consisted of him receiving another medication for de-worm (I don't know how anything can be left-he's been de-wormed for every single worm in the universe, ha ha!), received his second round of DHPP (will be due for his 3rd vaccination between the 2nd and 3rd week in October, was given a health exam and received gold stars because he was showing off his fetch and retrieve skills with his Halloween toy in the exam room!, Will be given a 3 month coverage for fleas/tics and heartworm. Must be followed up with Adopters. And he is 4 months old with 2 adult teeth coming in. The others are still baby shark teeth-ouch! So BEAN is ready to meet his furever family! Please email us at puppydogranch@rocketmail.com for an application/agreement and if you have questions. IMPORTANT: Adopter must have a fully fenced, secure yard and is responsible to have him neutered at 5 months (mid Oct mid Nov). BEAN IS MICROCHIPPED, knows his commands, knows fetch and retrieve and is pee pad trained. Also, BEAN is good around dogs, but has never been around cats.

9-24-22 PUPDATE: BEAN IS GETTING HEALTHY AND WILL BE READY SOON FOR HIS FUREVER HOME! He is not complete on vaccinations, as he being treated for giardia, lower GI infection and Anemia. Adopter is responsible for his neuter at 5 months of age.

9/10/22 PUPDATE: AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION BEGINNING SEPT. 24TH: BEAN! Hi! Do you like my new pictures! Don't I look dapper? I'm a 9 week old "Beanie Wienie" and I'm getting medical care until the 24th, but you can APPLY TODAY TO PRE-QUALIFY TO ADOPT ME! I'm anxious to get the A-OK so that I can be spoiled and loved by my furever family! And in return, I'll give you sweet kisses and lots of laughs and snuggles!

I'm small (2.7 lb.) but getting big and strong for a wienie mix which makes me extra special! Because of my food and vitamins, I don't have a rat tail anymore! Mama Laurie's been giving me oatmeal baths for my dry skin and now my fur is soft and silky like velvet! Ooh la la! I'm getting healthier every day and taking all my medicines like a big boy! I was sick when me and my 'brother' OLIVER were found 2 weeks ago and the medicines are helping to treat my giardia, g.i. infection and anemia. Sounds kinda scary and I felt icky for a while, but I'm feeling better every day!

I'm smart (I love learning a new activity every day-I'm a bit of a show off too), I am very affectionate, love to be held or lay in your lap, I love car rides, I'm pee pad trained even though I'm in solitary 🙁, small but cool comfy "temporary home" with plenty of toys, blankets, chew rings (no rawhides or bones allowed) and my own window!

I live in Las Cruces, New Mexico and a couple of weeks ago, me and my 'brother' and bestie, OLIVER, were found outside after the big thunderstorms. We were just babies and were really scared and were cold, dirty and pretty skinny and we didn't understand why no one was there to wrap us in a blanket and tell us we would be ok?! We were finally found (feels like we were by ourselves furever!) and then taken to the Shelter. OLIVER and I waited together in our cage for 4 long days, but no one ever came for us!

And then on the 5th day, here comes Mama Laurie who took us out of the Shelter and has been taking us to the hospitals and taking care of us in a crazy home filled with all kinds of doggies just like us in Las Cruces, NM! We're still kept away from everyone but we know they want to meet us! I was de-wormed (twice), and am being treated for giardia, a g.i. infection and anemia, so Mama Laurie makes me delicious chicken and rice to eat 4 times a day with my medicines because so my tummy gets better. I'm fully vaccinated and microchipped.
I live at Puppy Dog Ranch Rescue & Sanctuary in Las Cruces, NM.
Please email Laurie with questions and to request an Adoption Application/Agreement and requirements (BEAN will need to be neutered at 4-5 months of age): Our Email: puppydogranch@rocketmail.com.

INITIAL INFO 8/28/22: BEAN (BEANIEWIENIE) and his 'brother' OLIVER (OLLIE), are approximately 6-7 weeks old pups who were found huddled together outside during a thunderstorm on Sat. 8/20 and taken to our Kill Shelter by the Animal Control Officer. They were very thin, frightened and soaked to the bone. BEAN is a sweet, outgoing, playful pup who loves to play with his toys and person. He has the markings of a doberman/brown and tan hound with long legs and a white chest but several rescuers and groomers believe he is most likely a chiwienie based on his nose and ankles. Regardless, he is a beautiful boy! BEAN and OLIVER are being house trained with pee pads and are on a schedule, eating puppy kibble mixed with formula every 5-6 hours to get some nutrition into their little growing bodies! (With dry kibble as treats in between meals). They are growing and becoming healthier and happier every day! BEAN and OLIVER were de-wormed, microchipped and received their first set of core vaccinations. They will need their 2nd set of vaccinations on 9/4/22. Adopter(s) is/are required to provide proof of neuter at 4-5 months of age.

9/3/22 PUPDATE: BEAN IS ON A 2 WEEK HOLD while he is being treated for giardia and anemia. BEANIEWIENIE feels much better after 24 hours and thinks he's a Superwiener Hero but still has to remain in isolation. With his meds, he will bounce into good health very quickly! He's much more outgoing now. He was given a dry oatmeal shampoo and his fur is shiny and feels like velvet! He will not be given his 2nd round of vaccinations until his own immune system is stronger, per his Vet. WE STILL ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS PRETTY BOY!

Our Special Adoption Requirements for the BEAN: Households with children must be at least 12 years old; no large dog(s); must include adopter to have a secure, fenced yard which is appropriate for a VERY small dog (photos can be provided). Also, small and medium dogs are never allowed to be left in a yard unattended or to be outside or walked without a leash and harness.

Please email us at puppydogranch@rocketmail.com for an Adoption Application/Agreement or if you have questions. BEAN lives with us at Puppy Dog Ranch Rescue & Sanctuary (our no kill, no cage home) in Las Cruces/Radium Springs, New Mexico. We adopt out of state, however, we do not transport our dogs and puppies. Puppy Dog Ranch is open by appointment to pre-approved adopters.
