Hi world, I'm Duke, a very handsome 11 year old black and grey, male tabby. As a young boy, I lived at Maxfund when I was adopted. by a very nice woman and lived with her for 10 years. I had some health issues and was brought back to Maxfund. I became very sad and kept to myself. I was put on an anti-stress diet which helped but I continued to feel depressed and sad.
Right now, I am in a wonderful foster home where I am thriving. I am so happy, content, and grateful. My foster home is quiet. I have a window to look out of where I can watch the neighborhood and sleep in the sun. I can be quite playful, batting around balls and toys. My wonderful, loving personality is shining through. I am loving, sweet, and talkative when I am hungry. I live with an 8-year old chihuahua mix and we do fine. He's downstairs and I'm upstairs and when we cross paths, we get along fine. I am living proof that once out of the shelter and in a home, my true personality shines through. I will stay in my foster home until I find a permanent home. Our adoption fees are as follows:
Kittens up to six months are $100
Cats seven months to seven years are $75
Senior cats eight years and older are $50
FIV+ and FELV cats up to 7 years $25
FIV+ and FELV+ cats 8 years and up $15
Puppies under the age of six months are $200
Dogs over six months and under eight years are $125
Dogs over eight years of age are $75
All animals come spayed/neutered, are current on vaccinations including rabies, and have been micro-chipped prior to adoption. The application process can take several days, depending on how long it takes us to get in contact with your references, your landlord, and your veterinarian. Once your application has been approved we will call you and let you know, and set up an approximate pick up time and date. This can take several days, so please be patient. If your application is denied, you will not receive a call.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
