My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:


Mowgli is a 6 year-old male, neutered, house-trained black-and-tan coonhound who is an absolute lovebug and clown. He will kiss you 1,000 times a day, and ask for belly rubs any chance he gets. He loves going on long walks and exploring in the woods with his sensitive nose. Mowgli came to us from a family in Brooklyn who worked 9-5 and left him alone in a crate in a tiny city apartment all day- not the right environment for him! He loved my father's big yard, and was easily trained to the invisible fence system. My father had emergency brain surgery in May and is now in an assisted living facility where he is not permitted to keep Mowgli. We are doing everything we can to keep Mowgli out of the shelter. He is good with other dogs and with people, and especially loves to play chase around the yard. He came to my father very well trained on an eCollar (which we still have) but my father didn't keep it up, and Mowgli could use a refresher. He will be an absolute joy in the right home!
