Thunder is a 4 ½ year old male beagle mix. Thunder was originally at our shelter in 2022 and unfortunately made his way back to our shelter in April of 2024. Thunder is an extremely sweet cuddle bug who wants all the snuggles he can get. He loves to play outside, meet new people, go on adventures, and eat some delicious treats. Thunder is already neutered and heartworm negative. Thunder cannot wait to meet you! Come stop in to meet this little ball of love today!

Walk-ins stop 30 minutes before close. We are located at 2615 25th Ave in Gulfport. Come to our back parking lot through our adoptions entrance.

HSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.
Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
