My story

Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsy definitely has a herding dog breed in her mix. We think Border Collie. Gypsy is around 4 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is a very good girl and the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She can climb a 6-foot fence, but I caught her on the first try, told her no, and she has not attempted it since. Gypsy is fairly active. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited, and she loves to run and play with her toys. She especially loves squeaky toys. Gypsy loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot. She gets excited about squirrels and cats on the other side of the fence. Gypsy gets along best with male dogs and doesn't like annoying small dogs. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She can sit and comes when called, She is crate-trained, house-trained, and otherwise very well-behaved in the house. She could perhaps use a bit more obedience training with someone that is firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved member of the family and would like a large yard with a 6' fence to run and play.

Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Columbus or Cincinnati Ohio. She is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Go meet their pets

Our dogs are in Texas and there is no way to meet them prior to adoption. Most dogs have a video in their listings and virtual visits can be arranged.

More about this rescue

We are an army of one trying to save some of the many homeless and unwanted dogs in the area where we live. There are too many wonderful unwanted dogs in the south and not enough good homes for all of them. We adopt and transport dogs to loving forever homes in the northeast to save them from euthanasia or other terrible fates.

We are a reputable rescue and REFERENCES are AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
