Here's what the humans have to say about me:
A hound’s nose consists of approximately 230 million olfactory cells, or “scent receptors” and my foster Mom says I have all that and more. I can smell a treat from the other side of the house which gives me a huge advantage over all these regular dogs I’m currently crashing with. My long, floppy ears are adorable and the wrinkles on my forehead well, everyone gushes over my cuteness and how silky soft I feel. My fur is very short so shedding will not be an issue for me and if someone comes in the house I will let you know.
I’m always playing with my foster siblings and sometimes I try to play with the cats, but they are on the snobby side so I try to leave them alone. Outside time is so fun with all the different smells, but the minute I’m called inside I am always the first at the door. If my foster Mom goes on a walk, I stay right by her side to protect her, which she seems to like because she is always telling me I’m a good boy. When I’m tired she lets me crawl up on her lap to take a nap and she always praises me for sleeping through the night.
When I go potty outside she starts clapping, but occasionally I can’t hold it and go inside which she doesn’t clap for that, it is more of a grunt noise. Meal time is probably my favorite time of day, I run straight to my crate and get ready to chow down…sometimes a little too fast, burp. I just hit the 3 month mark so I am growing fast into being a big, handsome and very smart guy and really want to find my forever family before I grow up.
I’ve heard I will probably be between 50-65 lbs so not too big and not too little. I can’t wait to find my family who will teach me to be my best and we can live out our days together.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policies, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household.
Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
