My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

10/24/23 Rhianna is still here. Her heart murmur does not mean she can't love a family! Some dogs live long lives with this condition. Take a chance and adopt this girl. She deserves to be loved by her own family. Rhianna is the cutest little dog, and SHE LOVES MEN! She loves my husband, bouncing up the backs of his shins wanting attention. Rhianna is very vocal - I think a natural Chi trait. She bounces around underfoot so should be considered a tripping hazard. She has a tiny bladder, so she needs outside frequently or trained to use a potty pad, and she'll need a fenced yard as she's had no leash training. I can envision this little sweetie being carried around in a front pack, close to her owner's heart!

Additional adoption info

Upon receiving a completed application, we will contact your two personal references plus your veterinarian, and then schedule a home safety visit with you. We do have all adopters sign an adoption contract and ask for an adoption donation (dependent on the age of the dog) to help defray the costs of vetting the dogs in our care. We prefer to not place our dogs in homes where there are children under the age of 10. You must be able to pick up your dog - we do not use commercial transportation methods.

More about this rescue

We have seen the need to provide more foster home environments for dogs needing a second chance, so our rescue was just founded at the beginning of 2016. We welcome donations to help with the care of our foster dogs, and we also welcome local people interested in fostering or helping us in any way to fill out the volunteer application.
